The project
La Bouquinerie du Liseron is a New Caledonian online bookshop specialising in the purchase and sale of second-hand books, giving residents the opportunity to find literary gems at reduced prices or give their collections a second life. This initiative addresses a real need in an island territory where book access is limited by geographical distance and high import costs.
Xavier Kain developed the e-commerce platform to allow this local bookshop to reach all book lovers across New Caledonia.
Challenges & objectives
The main challenge was managing a highly dynamic second-hand book catalogue where each copy is unique in condition and availability. Logistical constraints specific to New Caledonia (local delivery, local payment methods) required customisation of the standard WooCommerce solution.
