The project
Rose Auctions is an online auction platform specialising in antiques, vintage objects and works of art. The platform connects sellers — antique dealers, estate liquidators and private collectors — with buyers looking for unique, authenticated pieces.
Xavier Kain developed the auction platform from scratch, designing a system for creating, managing and bidding on auctions with real-time updates.
Challenges & objectives
The main technical challenge was implementing a real-time auction system where bids are updated instantly for all participants. Managing auction timers, automatic extensions and outbid notifications required robust technical architecture. Building trust between buyers and sellers also required detailed authentication processes and seller ratings.
